What aligners can correct today.
Modern clear aligners can address a wider range of cases than they could five or ten years ago. Treatments that once required braces — including certain bite corrections, deeper movements, and complex rotations — are now sometimes treated with aligners alone.
That said, aligners still work best for mild to moderate cases. Some severe presentations are better treated with braces. Dr. Dulay reviews both options honestly during your consultation.

Unlike braces, clear aligners come out when you need them to. There are no dietary restrictions because there are no brackets or wires to damage. You eat the foods you normally eat. You brush and floss normally. For many patients, treatment feels less disruptive than they expected.

About 20 to 22 hours a day.
Removable doesn’t mean optional. Aligners only work when they’re in your mouth. Patients who wear them consistently are more likely to stay on schedule. Patients who frequently forget often experience delays in treatment.

Not every case is an aligner case. Some are better treated with braces — and when that’s true, we’ll say so.
Severe crowding, significant rotations, and certain complex bite corrections often respond better to traditional braces. Aligners can sometimes address these — but not always with the same predictability.
